"Extending Life of Technology"
Who are RWAP Software
Rather than being just another computer museum RWAP
Software offers a range of support for a range of vintage computers,
games consoles and industrial equipment; extending the life of technology
through sourcing and supplying replacement parts and promoting new
peripherals for those machines.
We use our skills and expertise of using retro computers on an almost daily basis since 1982 to assist users and those interested in developing new software and hardware. We also offer a broad range of second hand hardware and software for these computers and spares (including replacement keyboard membranes and solutions to replace dot matrix and inkjet printers).
Our heart remains with
the Sinclair computers which formed our introduction to the world of
computers and have provided a means to developing some spectacular
software over time. Whilst we continue to develop and encourage new products to support
these computers, bringing them to market, through our trading platform
SellMyRetro; we have also
extended our range of support to the rest of the retro community.
After all, ensuring that 1980s computer technology can still
be used and improved, helps keep with our wish to contribute positively
to the environment through recycling rather than items going to
Products for Sinclair Computer Owners
The Sinclair computers were invented by Sir Clive Marles Sinclair, well-known British entrepreneur in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
We work with other suppliers, designers and specialists in the retro-computer community to supply a wide range of items aimed at supporting the users of the full range of Sinclair based computers, including the Cambridge Z88 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
We work hard to
increase the development of products for these computers and also to
obtain the more obscure items produced for these computers (and arrange
for them to go back into production where there is sufficient
We are constantly developing new products to help keep these
retro computers alive, including replacement
keyboard membranes for a wide range of computers (including the
Sinclair ZX80, ZX81, ZX Spectrum, QL and Cambridge Z88 home computers).
As part of our software development for these Sinclair
computers, we have helped to develop various high profile programs for
the Sinclair QL and PC, including Genealogy for Windows and QL
Genealogist which can both handle GEDCOM data, Q-Route (a fast and
accurate route-finder program currently only on the QL) and the first
high colour game for the Sinclair QL (QWord).
We are helping to promote both the Sinclair ZX80/ZX81 and the
Sinclair QL through development of new websites, including the Sinclair
forums and the Sinclair QL Wiki
which help to increase the amount of information available on the
internet about these computers, and enthuse people into developing new
hardware and software products.
We have also re-released numerous programs for the Sinclair
including the popular games and adventures by Talent+, as well as a
wide range of programming reference utilities for the Sinclair QL,
including the SBASIC/SuperBASIC Reference Manual, Q-Index and Q-Help,
all of which are still available. Some items have been re-released
commercially, whereas others we have agreed with the authors to make them
available as freeware (downloadable from the
Sinclair QL Homepage).
We continue to preserve commercial software written for the
Sinclair QL with a view to either re-releasing it commercially, or to
making it available for existing users who can no longer read the
microdrive cartridges originally supplied.
We continue to look for new ways of supporting the burgeoning retro and
vintage computer market, and have successfully launched our own dedicated
trading website for retro computer users and traders - SellMyRetro.com
which has much
lower fees than you would expect to pay on similar online auction
We continue to look to purchase and recycle retro computer collections for re-sale in order to help continue the interest in these computers, and are also interested in finding new hardware projects to manufacture and sell to the existing market. If you are interested, or can help with manufacturing or designing some of the hardware, please get in touch with us.
In recent years, we have expanded our range of products further to address much sought after replacement parts and equipment including:

We continue to actively seek other partners who can help to
improve and expand this market, not only improving the rate of
recycling for old computers, but also bringing skills such as
programming and electronic development back once again into the reach
of the masses.
